Vehicles in Germany's Town Found Marked with Nazi Symbols in Blood, Law Enforcement Report

Authorities stated they were alerted by a individual who discovered a vehicle in Hanau marked with red-colored substance

Roughly 50 vehicles have been covered with what appears to be human blood in the German town of Hanau close to Frankfurt, as reported by authorities.

Cars, exterior walls and postal boxes were vandalized, sometimes with prohibited symbols, they reported in a release.

Police report they were contacted late on Wednesday, when a man discovered that a car in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been covered with a reddish-hued substance.

The fluid had been drawn in the shape of a Nazi symbol, they reported.

Police then discovered many other marked cars and building exteriors in the nearby vicinity.

Nazi symbols are illegal in Germany under legislation prohibiting the public exhibition of symbols from the Nazi era.

Officials state initial examinations show the fluid was probably human bodily fluid.

"Currently there is no indication as to where it came from; investigators are not yet aware of any physical harm in association with the incident," they commented.

Local authorities stated they were working "to solve the case" and have asked to the public for tips.

An important political figure stated the incident left him stunned and needed to be solved promptly.

"This incident strikes at the very heart of Hanau and reawakens the wounds of the extremist terrorist attack half a decade ago," he posted on a platform, recalling the death of nine individuals by a shooter focusing on people of migrant background in five years prior.
